On behalf of Health Net, Manatt Health Strategies virtually hosted over 120 stakeholders from across the California encounter data landscape at the 2020 Encounter Data Summit, “Investing in a Data-Driven Future: Proposals for Improving Encounter Data in California.” The Summit – a milestone-marking event for our year of industry engagement – was held virtually on Friday, August 7th. During the convening, participants heard from healthcare industry leaders on recommended actions and investments made to overcome the most intractable challenges confronting encounter data reporting in California. Encounter data system improvement recommendations were presented in the areas of data governance, standardization, and technology and technical assistance for participant discussion and feedback; next steps to translate recommendations into actions were also discussed.

On August 29, 2019, nearly 100 representatives from across California gathered to discuss the most pressing and intractable challenges facing encounter data reporting and to set priorities for solution development. The Summit marked the latest phase in Health Net’s Encounter Data Improvement Program, where stakeholders from across the State will be engaged to develop targeted and actionable strategies and tactics to improve encounter data reporting for Medi-Cal managed care providers.
